Garage Shoot for Garage Man Magazine

I was recently hired to shoot the cover issue of Garage Man Magazine’s September issue. Joshua Gore is the main subject for September’s issue. For those of you who do not know, Josh is the epitome of a “garage man”. He often spends several hours, if not days, straight in his own [...]

The Fast Family

While at a good friends wedding I was able to see some old friends whom I have not seen in a few years.  It was great to see Jay, Stephanie, and their son Caleb (who was grown like a weed).  I took a few minutes to shoot a couple of pictures of them against the [...]

Just Wondering Logo

I created a new branding for a local church for their new series named “Just Wondering”.  This series is going to be several weeks long this summer and every week will be dedicated to answering a new question about life and what the Bible says about it.  Sounds like a neat series and I was [...]

Portrait Shots – Round 3 / Black & White

I decided to shoot Rachel in black and white this week with a few more “fashionably artistic” poses.  The over the shoulder glance seems to be popular in hair style shoots.  For this I used 2 strobes – one camera left close and 6ft high, another strobe camera right set back farther at 7ft high [...]

Studio Shots Round 2

For this session I went for a much more traditional feeling portrait.  Same lights with same settings as session 1 except the right side light was at a lower height to capture her face more.  Pretty simple and straight forward, but it was good to do something that should have been done a while ago. [...]

Studio Ski Portraits

I got a chance to shoot some fun ski portraits with studio strobes.  I really loved the lighting and may have to pick up some proper lighting sets.  Rachel (our female model) did wonderfully and seemed to have fun with this project.  I had 2 – 1600w White Lightning Strobes set to 1/2 power into [...]

Canyons

Ever since I was a kid I have been fascinated with canyons.  I don’t know any guy who isn’t really.  If you were to strip ever man down to their inner child I think they would dream to play in canyons everyday.  Pretending to hide out in them and explore was really the ultimate for [...]

A Look Back: Favorites of 2009

Upon looking back at a few of the photos I have taken over the past year, I decided to make a “Favorites of 2009″ post to remember the great times I had shooting them. While I have MANY more that I “like”, these are the ones I am quite fond of.   Each one, [...]

Home for Christmas Project

Our goal with this project was to shoot houses that were built in an earlier era, dressed in Christmas seasonal cheer.  Shooting for a vintage feel in B&W made for very interesting perspectives.  As my colleague pointed out, the symmetry is the appealing aspect of these homes.   To produce these images as if taken in [...]

Old Farm Shoot

Did a fun shoot right off of Rt. 120 for the documentation of an older barn establishment.  The grounds posed a challenge with the muddy terrain however the bright blue sky made up for it.  All in all a fun day of shooting.
